Life-Saving Drug Fights Cytokine Storm

Although people with strong immune systems are still passing due to cytokine storms causing massive inflammation and death, there is a drug proven to block this process and save lives.

It seems to be almost known by many physicians so, as with the cures for septic shock described in other blog posts here, you need to know the facts for yourself.

Scripts Researchers say sphingosine analog AAL-R can block the immune system response triggering a “cytokine storm.”

Skip the flu vaccine because you have a immune system? Will you die in ignorance?

If, as a number of people have told me, you feel you don't need the flu vaccine because your super immune system protects you, or you can boost your own health by taking megadoses of vitamins or zinc or some herbs then you are a perfect example of the old saying, "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing."

One way the flu kills is by activating strong immune systems - see below.

The coronavirus threat is real but insignificant compared to yearly flu deaths.

The 2019CoV Chinese coronavirus is in the news daily but so far it has not killed a single person in the U.S.

The regular yearly flu has already caused 8,200 deaths just in the U.S. and the flu season has barely gotten going. So while people panic about a possible Chinese pandemic don't ignore the influenza vaccine which WILL save lives and this year's flu will IS! already spreading widely.

But the regular flu isn't "sexy" enough for TV so you don't hear about the hundreds of U.S. citizens dead every day from the preventable flu.

NOTE: You may see complaints online that the CDC overestimates influenza deaths, suggesting the real number so far is only about 2,000 and 56 of those were children (ONLY??). But the nearly 9,000 deaths were all in people who had the flu and probably would be alive if they hadn't been infected.
There are expert estimates that of those 9,000 about 7,000 would have survived if they had been vaccinated this year. Some were is such poor health that even a mild case of the flu could have resulted in death.
But while the terrible post-WWI flu killed 30 to 90 million people worldwide before the era of modern medicine, since 2010 an average of 20,000 die of complications of the yearly flu every year in the US, 55,000 in the 2014-2015 season - 61,000 last year.
EVen if you don't mind getting the flu, being vaccinated helps stop the spread and saves other lives especially children and the elderly.
If you think you have a super immune system or can boost your own health by taking megadoses of vitamins or zinc or some herbs then you are a perfect example of the old saying, "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing." While it is true that you can boost your immune system, it isn't true that it would protect you from catching the flu and even worse, every year the flu kills very healthy younger people precisely BECAUSE they are young, fit, and have strong immune systems. You see one way the flu kills is by overexciting a strong immune system into producing TOO MANY protective cytokines which produce something called a cytokine storm that causes excessive inflammation and therefore fluid build up in the lungs and kills by causing the young, healthy, strong person to actually drown in their own fluids.
---------------------------------------------------------------
The CDC says this will be one of the worst flu seasons ever with 22,000 already hospitalized by January 1) and will kill many children.

The flu has killed 56 US children already this year.

Those over 65 get a much stronger vaccine because our immune systems are weaker. Many flu deaths occur due to the body's immune system overreaction causing a "cytokine storm" See my article on this and possible treatments. Statin drugs can also help reduce over active immune responses.

Coronavirus 2019-CoV is being evaluated as a potential pandemic theat

There are major public health concerns over the new animal coronavirus can be spread from person to person, not just caught from animals. It is important to note that most pandemics (worldwide spread of a dangerous virus) are first found in animals and it then spreads to humans and mutates to airborne infection.

Coronavirus such as this new one, 2019-nCoV, often have a high mortality rate (they are very deadly) and with only 200 known cases so far there are already 3-5 deaths and it has spread from China to Korea.

Coronaviruses are often deadly (the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) are examples) and people have little or no natural immunity to them, raising the potential for developing into a very dangerous pandemic. But the common cold is also a coronavirus and it isn't particularly dangerous, although the fact that there has never been a vaccine developed and there is no pill you can take for it, shows how difficult it will be to protect people from this new coronavirus.

The initial incidence of this virus is thought to have occurred on December 31 presenting as a case of pneumonia - hence the 2019 designation even though it wasn't pinned down as the cause until Chinese authorities reported the cause of the new infection on January 7.

The WHO Emergency Committee will meet Wednesday to decide whether to issue an international health crisis.

As of Monday night, U.S. the WHO has not called for any restriction on travel.

CPR is mostly PR or placebo for the bystanders or relatives, not very useful but extremely painful way to die

May doctors actually have a NO CODE tattoo. That tells paramedics or ER doctors NOT to perform CPR.

WARNING, Do NOT read further if you are sensitive about the realities of death and hospital services.

Why? Because doctors know that CPR only works in very rare cases, about 10% one-month survival with good neurologic outcome.

Unlike the TV shows where everyone rushes to a patient and gives CPR, an injection, and perhaps a big defibrillator shock, then leaves the hospital 35 minutes later in a wheelchair and hops into a car for a ride home, in actuality if you are sick enough to be in a hospital and stop breathing or your heart stops beating, or you collapse at a game, at home, or a concert, and need to go to a hospital, then there is about a 10% chance you will leave that hospital alive if you needed CPR.

There are a few instances when it can be useful, especially with younger adults and especially kids who tend to recover from illnesses and injuries much better than older adults. This should be mandatory in cases of apparent drowning or electric shock.

Most CPR training no longer emphasizes anything but chest compression for that very reason - no use coming in close contact with a potentially very ill person when it won't do any good.

But consider that when done correctly CPR often results in broken ribs.

So, if you are over 50, or have a bad heart, and especially if you have other medical conditions and are even older, there is almost no chance that you will ever walk out of a hospital if you had to receive CPR even in a hospital setting and done correctly.

But, what about a hospital you ask, don't they also give a shot of adrenalin with the miraculous effect recently seen in the Sherlock Holmes movie? Well, truth be told, and you seldom hear much truth when it comes to death, a recent study showed that giving adrenalin shots in addition to CPR and shock increases long term survival (meaning you ever leave the hospital on your own) by a whopping 1.0% or one in one hundred. https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2018/07/180720154915.htm

On the other hand, it nearly doubles the chance of living on with severe brain damage.

What will happen is that as you are dying you will have a stranger beating on your chest with clenched fists (in a vain attempt to start your already dead heart) and/or having large heavy people essentially jumping up and down on your chest.

How would you prefer to go? I don't want to go at all, and you probably don't either, but given a choice, I prefer peaceful to getting a beating severe enough to break ribs.

Why is the CDC and Red Cross and even civic organizations still promoting CPR? Because it makes people feel good to do something. But beyond what it does to the patient, consider how the person giving CPR will feel when they realize they have been beating on a dying person?

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4458478/

"two randomized trials comparing the short-term survival of CPR using chest compression alone or chest compression plus rescue breathing. Of 2 496 cases of adult OHCA in that study, 1 243 (50%) were randomly assigned to chest compression alone and 1 253 (50%) to chest compression plus rescue breathing. Follow-up revealed that in these 2 496 cases there were 2 260 deaths and 236 long-term survivors, and that chest compression alone was associated with a lower risk of death in comparison with chest compression plus rescue breathing (adjusted HR 0.91, 95%CI 0.83–0.99)."

Read that again, only 236 survivors out of 2496 CPR cases and that was a random sample so some people were young and healthy before some accident or injury such as a car crash. More people recover for a few hours or even a few days if recovery is measured as being in a hospital ICU bed.

Read what doctors choose for themselves and loved ones.
"A study...by the Stanford University School of Medicine, found most physicians surveyed would choose a do-not-resuscitate or “no-code” status for themselves if they were terminally ill even though they tend to pursue aggressive, life-prolonging treatment for patients facing the same prognosis."

Vaccine found for four main hemorragic fever diseases.

A new vaccine, so far only tested on monkeys, appears to provide protection against the world's most dangerous viral diseases, Ebola, Sudan virus, Marburg, and Lassa virus.

Please note that this vaccine is still in the initial test stages and is not ready for human use but the fact that it works on monkeys is very encouraging, especially considering the high mortality rate of these horrible diseases and the relatively easy spread from human to human.

Climate change is causing insects to spread to new regions and increase in numbers because milder winters mean more eggs survive the winter so even regions of the U.S. which would normally be safe from these jungle- born, but sometimes mosquito-borne diseases are becoming vulnerable.

Since there is virtually no treatment for these hemorrhagic (internal bleeding) diseases if a massive breakout was encountered even an advanced country, vaccines are critical and the best protection is to vaccinate those Africans who are in the rural villages which are most susceptible to initial outbreaks.

Therefore this report published by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is very encouraging.

So far this investigative level vaccine has been tested on various animals, including macaques.

The work on this VesiculoVax vaccine is being done at The University of Texas Medical Branch (Galveston) and Profectus BioSciences of New York with funding from NIH's Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) division and Redeemer’s University in Nigeria.

Twenty vaccinated animals and 12 unvaccinated monkeys were all infected with multiple strains of the hemorrhagic viruses, including some currently spreading in Africa.

The dozen untreated macaques contracted various diseases while 19 of the vaccinated animals did not develop any of the infections and the final one of 20 merely developed a detectable level of Lassa in the blood but did NOT develop the disease.

I beat Type 2 Diabetes in 3 months

At age 73 my A1C level went to 7.6% turning my condition from pre-diabetic to full Type 2 diabetes.

By a simple diet change and an OTC mineral in three months, my A1C went down to 5.7 which is completely normal.

I am not clear which of the changes was most important, I suspect it was a synergistic action, so here are the major changes I made.

First, recent studies show that brief fasting is very useful. A three day fast will completely reset your immune system.

I am following a much easier schedule, 16-hour fasts, which essentially means three square means in 8 hours and no snacking after. Not that difficult to keep up.

Second, I now take chromium picolinate daily instead of when I get around to it.

Thirdly, easy for my spouse and I because we only use 5 lbs of white sugar a year and that mostly to feed yeast, we cut out all white flour, rice, and potatoes - high glycemic index foods.

We never did eat very much processed food and no fast food so transitioning to zero processed food chemicals was easy. Turns out whole wheat pizza and even cauliflower pizza taste better than traditional pizza - you just need slightly stronger sauce because the whole wheat bread is tastier.

Better than insulin or even constant blood sugar monitoring, although I have a friend who is so enamored with his disease that he won't even try my simple changes for a few months.

It always amazes me even after all these years how many people fall in love with a disease to the point where they simply won't try even easy, safe, and cheap potential cures or treatments.

Short term fasting makes chemotherapy much easier to tolerate

Convincing your doctor will probably be next to impossible so you should probably just look up all the online published research and decide for yourself whether or not you should fast a day or two before your next chemotherapy session.

The surprising results of research by individuals and by real doctors are contrary to every bit of common sense but then we are talking science and medicine, not common sense. Common sense told people thunder was gods throwing rocks at each other.

Fasting is moving more and more into the forefront of medical research as it has been found to not only help with weight control but even treat or even completely cure what are often thought of as diseases such as hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and high cholesterol, but are actually just a consequence of overfeeding.

NOBEL PRIZE
In fact, the 2016 Nobel Prize in medicine went to a Japanese researcher Dr.Ohsumi for work on the good effects of fasting.
https://lifespa.com/fasting-research-wins-nobel-prize-medicine-right/

But while it does make sense that fasting could help with those conditions, it was totally unexpected to discover that when cancer patients fasted for upwards of two days before chemotherapy they didn't just tolerate the common post chemotherapy problems such as nausia and profound weakness, they were completely eliminated.

One patient in particular reported that she had been following the fasting routine and experienced no side effects from chemotherapy sessions until one time when she forgot to fast and had a terrible time after that round of chemotherapy.

On a personal note I recently began fasting for both weight and other medical conditions only to be surprised by not feeling any hunger at all for three days - it was absolutely easy.

Extreme fasting such as for more than a few days should be done with considerable caution but there are clinics in Europe which have utilized fasting for up to 30 days as a treatment for many diseases, clinics often supported by the government and insurance companies.

Fasting mimicking diet also works
http://stm.sciencemag.org/content/9/377/eaai8700

"

Fasting: More than a fad

Mice that fast periodically are healthier, metabolically speaking. To explore whether fasting can help people as well, Wei et al. studied 71 people who either consumed a fasting-mimicking diet for 5 days each month for 3 months or maintained their normal diet for 3 months and then switched to the fasting schedule. The fasting-like diet reduced body weight and body fat, lowered blood pressure, and decreased the hormone IGF-1, which has been implicated in aging and disease. A post hoc analysis replicated these results and also showed that fasting decreased BMI, glucose, triglycerides, cholesterol, and C-reactive protein (a marker for inflammation). These effects were generally larger in the subjects who were at greater risk of disease at the start of the study. A larger study is needed to replicate these results, but they raise the possibility that fasting may be a practical road to a healthy metabolic system."

Even fasting for 12-16 hours every day can have profound benefits for health and slow but steady weight loss.

How simple, just eat normally but for ONLY 8 hours, the same 8 hours every day. Basically this means ZERO snacking before or after a fixed time.
